Valencia

Valencia Aug 29-30

The trip to Valencia on the train was uneventful but sweaty.  When we found the hostel we were met at reception by a group of 3 Canadian friends traveling together. They had also left Toronto on the night of the storm but had started their trip in France. We joined forces for 3 days of adventuring.  The first adventure was spending the rest of the day at the beach. This may not seem like an adventure but if you had seen the man in the tiny white speedo with the giant boner you would know what an adventure it was.  The sand was beautiful and the sea was calm and warm. We had a great day and re convened later that night to go for food. The food ended up being shwarma because apparently in Valencia in this nebour hood you cant get paella after 9.
In the morning on the following day we went off to make final arrangements for the tomato festival. Wanting to make sure we knew how to get there and get back. This took most of the morning and after that erin and I broke off from the others and went back to the beach. Today the beach was even more beautiful then the day before.  The water was so warm you didn’t even have to walk in slow and the sand was again hot and fine and perfect.  I enjoyed the Mediterranean soo much. The only problem is it has spoilt me for cold beach water from now on.  We met back up with the others for dinner that night and it was basically the perfect night out. We walked about 40 minutes down to the beach and then along the beach. Eventually we found a restaurant that looked out over the water and sat down. We had super fantastic sangria and again paella. It was fantastic. The night was beautiful and the perfect temperature. It was a lot of fun.  On the way back we walked through a market and picked up some booz for the following morning.
We went to bed fairly early as the plan was to wake up at 3 to start drinking for La tomatina.
That is a story for a post all it’s own.
